The Putterman Pickleball NoiseGard Quilted Panel System reduces unwanted soundwaves from leaving the picklebal court during play. Sound generated on the court enters a 4-layer NoiseGard™ QPS composite system that includes a weather resistant, quilted fabric covering and a layer of sound-absorbing filament batting. Behind that, additional sound blocking results from 1 lb/sf mass loaded vinyl (MLV) followed by a durable vinyl cover.
Pickleball’s unprecedented growth over the past few years has raised the concerns of noise pollution for homeowners within 500’ of a court. The sound levels created have a high-pitch level (1000-1300 Hz) and have been recorded from 70 – 80 decibels (dB). This tends to be 20 -30 dB above the normal and acceptable level for court sports.
How many panels you need will depend on whether you are placing them on the short or long side of the court with the intent of reducing the sound in a particular direction.
