The Tyrol Men's Smash Pickleball Shoes (Black/Smoke Pearl) are constructed on a medium fit last (the shoe form used to construct a shoe). The upper material is made of a nylon knitted upper to provide superior flow through air ventilation to keep your feet as cool and dry as possible.  The Smash features a removable polyurethane insole and shock absorbing EVA midsole for  comfort and performance. The exterior PVC heel counter and torsion control shank work in unison to provide extra lateral stability and prevent ankle rollover. Tyrol's new herringbone tread outsole has been designed for excellent traction on any playing surface whether that be outdoor silica grit treated or smooth indoor tile or parquet indoor courts.

Features:
Multi-Surface Rubber Outsole: Developed to perform on both Outdoor silica grit treated, and smooth indoor playing surfaces.  The Chevron Design provides excellent non-slip performance and stability.
Lightweight Material:  The removable insole has a Polyurethane base with Nylex top layer. Polyurethane is a shock-absorbing material that dispels impact outwardly for better cushioning comfort. The insole uses Tyrol’s Cooling System and has perforation in the arch area that allows for breathable flow through ventilation.
Heel Stabilizer:  The Smash heel stabilizer is designed to give rear foot control and support. The sculpted last follows foot anatomy and creates a curved heel. The curved heel sets your foot snuggly into the back of the shoe and provide correct alignment to prevent ankle rollover.
Power Clip: The power clip is the rubber toe bumper that moves up to the medial side of the shoe to add support for stepping into your shot. It also gives “toe draggers” support at the toe and medial side of the shoe.
Complete Aeration System:  Tyrol designed a flow-through Cooling System that allows air movement and ventilation through the insole, midsole and outsole of the shoe.
Torsion Control Shank: The Smash offers Tyrol’s Torsional Control Shank to provide lateral stability working in unison with the exterior Heel Counter to prevent ankle rollover in quick side to side movements..
Generously Wide Toe Box: The Smash shoe is built as a medium fit shoe and is slightly narrower than their other Tyrol models. The ‘D’ fit last does however continue to offer a deeper toe height that supports the quick forward / stop action in going to the kitchen line. This fit is designed for Pickleball players to prevent toe injury which is prevalent in the sport.

Factoid:  The seven-foot zone on each side of the net is known as the non-volley zone and is often referred to as “the kitchen” of a pickleball court.  You cannot volley while standing in the kitchen so you can't stand there and smash every hit.
