Bakko Tennis Backboards
- |
The best ideas come of necessity and the idea of Bakko Backboards was born out of one father’s frustration with the repetitive sound of tennis balls rebounding off his garage door. Today, Bakko Backboards are seen all over the world at country clubs, schools, military bases and private courts. “Bakko Backboards come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to fit the needs of every player and facility - wherever the game is played!’ – Bakko.
The fiberglass series
The pre-fabricated fiberglass panel construction of Bakko tennis backboards suggests a virtually limitless sized wall. The panels come in four feet wide sections that are sold as either ten or eight feet high. These panels interlock for an apparently seamless wall for hours of practice. A minimum of 12 feet of wall is suggested for singles practice, if elegance is important a 20 foot backboard is important. For doubles practice, no less than 16 feet is recommended, but as the experience level goes up, so should the amount of panels. Club and camps often purchase eight panel kits (32 feet) for of one long, professional looking practice wall.
When selecting a fence location for your backboard installation, it is recommended that you select a fence that is at 90 degrees with the path of the sun. This accommodates the player in that at no time during practice will they be looking directly into the sun. This 90 degree installation will also assist with the life of the backboard and avoid fading due to direct U.V. exposure. If the backboard is placed at the end of a U.S.T.A. sized court enclosure, the inside of the baseline can be used as a service line during backboard practice.
The Net Series
Bakko rebound nets fit perfectly into small areas that would not otherwise accommodate a fiberglass panel kit. Basements, garages and side yards can be quickly transformed into a private practice area. The netting for the outdoor series is U.V. treated for a longer lasting net. The ease of set up and takedown of the portable rebound net series makes it an ideal addition to any vacation home.
Tennis backboards and rebound nets are an essential element for any tennis court; they give players practice options and extra time on the court.
