The new 2019 line of
Babolat Pure Aero tennis racquets are out and the reviews are in! They definitely meet our standards when it comes to high end tennis racquets. The Pure Aero has been on our best seller list for quite some time, which is no surprise as it is the chosen racquet of pros, Rafael Nadal and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
So what’s the difference in the new 2019 Pure Aero line compared with the previous generations? While the racquet maintains it’s spin delivery, it now has added flex with a lower frame giving the player a little more control. The other difference is that Babolat has repositioned the Cortex dampening material to 3 and 9 o’clock, giving it a softer feel when connecting with the ball.
What is flex? A racquet’s flex rating is referring to how much a racquet bends on impact with the ball. The flex is actually measured by Babolat’s own RDC (racquet diagnostic center) scale from 0-100. The lower the number, the more flex your racquet is going to have. With a 67 on the scale, the Pure Aero is still on the firmer side, but Babolat has found the “sweet spot” giving more comfort without sacrificing power.
The Cortex dampening material is actually “CORTEX PURE FEEL” by a company called Smac. It is a rubber layer that sits between the carbon layers. The material aims to absorb vibration and shock and by moving the position of this material on the new racquets, the ball now has more “dwell time” on the strings, giving you that oh-so-satisfying sound when connecting with the ball.
Enjoy all the
features of the classic Pure Aero, which has been big hitter in the tennis industry for years now; except with the 2019 line, Babolat has improved the near perfect racquet, giving even more power and comfort than ever before.
There are five different models of the 2019 Pure Aero to choose from depending on preference and level, two of which are junior racquets for the future pros!
