The women’s
Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe is a tennis performance footwear option by Head. The
Sprint Pro by Head is light and fast, like you would expect from the name.
First let’s talk about the fit of this shoes. These
Head tennis shoes are true to fit so you don’t have to worry about going up a half size to ensure proper sizing. The toe box is naturally wider where the mid foot and the heel is medium width. The Head Sprint Pro has a low arch support meaning you don’t need to spend time breaking them in. I would recommend an arch support of some sort if you have higher arches, to help prevent injury from unsupported arches. This is great because these tennis shoes should be good to go as soon as you hit the court.
The upper of these tennis shoes are made of thermoplastic polyurethane or TPU which is durable, abrasive resistant and slightly elastic. The TPU on this upper is added with mesh and makes for a lightweight, seamless feel. The upper on the Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe could use slight break in but once they are broken in they feel soft and more comfortable the more you wear them. Some criticism of the Head Sprint Pro is the less than superb ventilation as they feel as though they run hot. There is an effective rubber toe guard on the upper to help minimize wear. In the heel of this tennis shoe there is a supportive heel cup with a heel clip that helps stabilize the heel in the shoe.
This shoe could use more cushioning around the ankle collar to provide more comfort. The midsole of the Head Speed Pro offers lightweight support and cushioning. It also provides good shock absorptions to keep the pressure off of your joints. The Head sprint Pro tennis shoe uses the Head Trinergy technology including a heel shock absorber, a Head energy bridge with torsional stiffness to support when you are performing a twisting movement and forefoot foam that helps with rebound and acceleration.
As you would expect from a Head, which also makes great
tennis apparel and
tennis bags, the outsole of this shoe is durable and uses hybrasion rubber. On paper the Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe has good durability but because of how lightweight these shoes are, in actuality they may wear more than you would like them to. The up side of this outsole is the tread on it offers great traction perfect for a lot of stop and go action. The outsole of this tennis shoe intelligently incorporates more rubber on the high wear areas and more grip where it is needed most.
The Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe has a non-marking outsole and works well on all surfaces. This tennis shoe is also available in a clay specific outsole for those who play habitually on clay courts.
The Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe weighs in at 12.8 ounces in a women’s size 8.5. This makes for a rather light weight ride, perfect for tennis players with quick feet. This tennis shoe really stands out, it has the most lateral support in a shoe of its weight class. The support and stability is one of the most favorable aspects of the Head Sprint Pro tennis shoe.
This shoe’s design is simple and well thought out. The upper of this shoe has a sleek modern look. It is mostly white but has pops of silver on the head logo and on the heel stabilizer. The material of the upper is shiny and feels smooth. The heel has a glossy patent leather material and silver head lettering.
All of these features come together to create a lightweight, durable, and breathable tennis shoe perfect for the player looking for a high performance tennis shoe at a light weight. Best of all the Head Speed Pro tennis shoe is only $109.95, which is less expensive than comparable
tennis shoes in its category, and comes with a 6 month wear guarantee, which really adds to the value of this tennis shoe.
