Adidas Men’s Barricade 8+ Tennis Shoes review

Tennis Shoe Review - adidas Men’s Barricade 8+ Tennis Shoes

The adidas Barricades are back. The new adidas Barricade 8+ tennis shoe has a new revamped design with the same memorable features you would expect out of a Barricade 8. The Barricade 8+ tennis shoe has a few added features that set it apart from the 8’s. The 8+ uses a Kurim upper that is seamless and durable and is more of a rubberized material with mesh underneath it. The Kurim upper material is softer and really wraps to your foot. This green mesh like upper is flexible and provides comfortable breathability because of that added mesh underneath. There is an adiTuff toe guard which is a stronger material to protect the shoes from toe draggers. Even the tongue of this tennis shoe is padded and breathable which is a plus. The heel is highly supportive and feels secure in the heel counter and collar. You wouldn’t have to worry about twisting your ankle due to lack of heel support. The midsole of this tennis shoe is made up of ADIPRENE+ and ADIPRENE material as well as an insert that gives extra cushion and shock absorption. There is stability from the torsion system and every part of your foot will feel supported in the new adidas Barricade 8+ tennis shoe. As you would suspect from a Barricade tennis shoe there is a very durable outsole backed by the 6 month durability guarantee. The traction is great on this tennis shoe and there is a nice pivot point and herringbone pattern to aid in vigorous tennis court play. Easily change directions all over the tennis court without losing that close to ground feel. The outsole is non marking and you can feel confident on all surfaces in this tennis shoe. The adidas Barricade 8+ tennis shoe may need slight break in if it feels stiff at all. It does fit true to size and has a medium arch support that may also need some break in, much like the previous model. Strangely this tennis shoe is not lighter than the previous model despite the changes and upgraded material. It’s not too noticeably heavy that it is uncomfortable but it may not be suitable for a very speedy tennis player looking for a lightweight shoe. As seen on Andy Murray at Wimbledon this tennis shoe so far seems to be a likeable upgrade from the adidas Barricade 8. I really like the look of this shoe because it is very multi dimensional and sleek. The mesh makes for a triangular pattern on the upper complete with the three stripe logo. They come in a great array of colors but my favorite is the bright green color. This tennis shoe comes in at a higher price at $129.99 but you just can’t beat the Barricade.stripe logo.
