The Head YouTek Graphene Radical Pro tennis racquet is Andy Murray’s racquet of choice and also my favorite of the Radical line. I have never been a fan of the Radical Pro tennis racquet up until now. However, the Head YouTek Graphene Radical Pro tennis racquet performs well in every aspect of the game. For the rest of this review I will be discussing how the racquet performed in terms of groundstrokes, net play, and the serve.
I really enjoyed the way the Head YouTek Graphene Radical Pro tennis racquet played from the baseline. At 10.9 ounces (unstrung), this racquet has the perfect amount of weight where there is enough weight to produce some extra power yet light enough where it is easy and comfortable to follow through and finish every stroke. I was able to hit very aggressively from the backcourt while the tennis racquet helped to produce the spin I needed to bring the ball back down into the court.
The tennis racquet performed great up at the net as well. The Head YouTek Graphene Radical Pro played soft when I wanted to drop volley and when I needed a short volley angle to finish a point and, when I needed to hit a punishing volley or block back a blasted shot at me, the tennis racquet remained stable and offered the pop I was looking for.
Something always felt very off when I would hit with the older versions of the Head YouTek Graphene tennis racquets but now the Head YouTek Pro version is the best of all the Radicals in my opinion.
