Head Youtek Radical OS Tennis Racquet Review

Head Youtek Radical OS

I got my hands on the new HEAD YouTek Radical Oversize (107") racquet the other day from "Do It Tennis" in Oceanside, CA. This racquet immediately felt comfortable to hold (I used to play only with HEAD racquets and their unique handle shape--a bit more rectangular-- was like shaking hands with an old friend!).

During warm-up I noticed how quickly I could swing this head-light racquet--and it felt very good. And, at 10.4 oz. it's weight is just about perfect for me (& I would guess the majority of 3.5 to 4.5 players).

After the first set I kept telling everyone how "solid" this racquet felt--and about its total absence of vibration. It seemed as if all I had to do was select a target and then the racquet made the ball travel accurately to its destination. It was very comfortable and offered fantastic control. I had to provide the power--but could do so with confidence!

This racquet is also a very strong performer at the net. Volleys are crisp--and the larger head-size added power (& increased the sweet spot). And it is very quick! I'm also sure it's 18 x 19 string pattern helps with the control I realized.

Serves were good--but the best feature was their accuracy obtained with this racquet.

I think it's a great racquet. It's versatile, comfortable, forgiving, and has a great "feel". I guess "YouTek" works!
