Junior Tennis Bundles - Racquet + Ball
- |
The Junior Tennis Racquet + Ball Bundles are for kids under the age of 12. Each bundle includes a junior tennis racquet and three tennis balls. Racquets can be purchased in several lengths. There are several different types of tennis balls for junior players and they are included with the various bundle choices based on the tennis racquet and skill level of the beginner.
Introducing tennis to young starter players in the right way is critical. As well as helping players to develop a range of physical skills, the appropriately sized tennis racquet allow children more control over their movements. This will not only help in the development of their tennis game but also make it easier and more enjoyable for them to play. Since younger children have a tendency to bang their racquets into poles and fences, moms and dads will be happy to learn that many less expensive junior racquets are made of a very durable titanium alloy material.
Green dot junior tennis balls are slightly pressurized and have a 25% lower compression than standard balls, offering moderate bounce and speed for advanced beginners. Red and orange felt tennis balls have 75% and 50% lower compression, respectively, with slower speed and lower bounce, ideal for younger players developing basic skills.
Notes:
- Please remember to purchase a racquet that your child will not outgrow in 6 months. If the child is 9 years old, but turning 10 within a couple of months, we recommend that you look at a 25 or 26-inch racquet. The child can always hold the grip a little higher up on the racquet until he/she is developed enough to use the whole 25 or 26 inches.
- Each junior racquet only has one grip size (as opposed to adult racquets that have 5-6 sizes); however, each racquet in a bundle has several racquet lengths to choose from. These grip sizes are based on the age of the child and the size of their hand at that age.
- The weight of a junior racquet can range from 6 oz. to 9.5 oz. The heavier racquets tend to be for older the children, and lighter racquets tend to be for younger children.
